The story of our vision and work in memory-driven computing -- Hewlett Packard Enterprise's research project The Machine, aimed at reinventing computing from the ground up. Starting with the Machine's announcement at Discover Las Vegas in 2014 and involving most of Labs for the next few years, this told the story in the words of some of the project's thought leaders and the engineers who are turning their ideas into real, working hardware and software (myself included). Yad Vashem, the World Center for Holocaust Research, Documentation, Education and Commemoration, holds more than a petabyte of Holocaust-related documents and artifacts, including survivor testimonies in many different digital formats. This unstructured data is enormously valuable and difficult to share, so the museum, together with Hewlett Packard Enterprise, hosted Israel’s first big data hackathon, "History Meets Innovation."
